Oh, anxious mom brain. If you’re a mom with anxiety, you probably know what I’m talking about without much detail. It’s that voice inside your head that likes to give you a minute-by-minute mental playback of every possible, horrible thing that might happen in any given situation.
If you’re like me and spend any amount of time on social media, then you’ve seen them a lot in your feed. You know who I’m talking about. The perfect people. They’re the ones on Instagram and other social media sites with their clean houses, gorgeous hair, cute outfits, healthy meals, and smiling kids.
Many women go through some emotional ups and downs when they have a baby. Pregnancy, childbirth, and adjusting to the realities of a baby create physical, mental, and hormonal changes, as well as shifts in relationships at home. New mothers may find themselves feeling overwhelmed, tired, tearful, and emotional-sometimes without being able to explain why.
